The high Mineral B cast iron pan is exactly like the traditional pan from the collection, but with more depth, making it perfect for perfect frying without splatters (you can generously immerse and fry Croquetas, Empanadillas, Churros... as a good frying pan deserves), and you can also use it to sauté meat and vegetables like in a wok or to roast meat and vegetables on the pan bottom, without non-stick coating and as a good roast deserves.

Things to Know About De Buyer Mineral B Iron Pans
  • De Buyer pans are made in France, and they are the only ones with a purity certificate of over 99% iron. The best!
  • They are iron pans, so they can rust. How to prevent it? Avoid prolonged contact with water, don't let them air dry: simply dry them with a cloth after washing. If you want, you can leave them on low heat for a few minutes again to completely remove the moisture while finishing cooking (it's a very easy trick to follow and very useful).
  • If you're going to leave them unused for many days, you can apply a little oil and spread it over the surface with a paper towel, but it's not essential.
  • Before the first use, it's very interesting to season them. This seasoning makes them more naturally non-stick. Seasoning is super simple to do. Watch the video among the photos to learn how to do it.
  • You have a pan for a lifetime! You can scrub it with a soft sponge, or wash it with soap if needed to remove food, and nothing will happen to the pan! (there's no non-stick coating to damage). They can turn black, uniformly or in patches. Don't worry, the blacker they get, the better they will perform.
  • If rust spots appear, rub with a paper towel with oil, and you'll see how it magically disappears. If the rusted area is larger, use soap without fear. Nothing will happen; it's a completely iron pan: under the iron layer, there's more iron.
  • If you've had to scrub it with soap or if you simply feel like it, you can season it again, but it's not essential to do it regularly.

Buenas sarten, pero no apta para todos los públicos

Estamos contentos con la sartén, hemos seguido los pasos q se indican para la curación, y si esperasas a q la sartén esté muy caliente, funciona perfectamente. Como peros, el peso q tiene, el cuidado q requiere, lavado y untado de aceite. No es para alguien con poco tiempo; a cambio parece q está sartén nos acompañará durante bastantes años. El usar y tirar se acabó

Me ha encantado la sartén. Fácil de utilizar y los alimentos salen buenísimos.

Satisfecho

Muy satisfecho, aunque seguimos aprendiendo a utilizarla, de momento no se nos ha pegado nada y su tratamiento es muy sencillo, nada complicado. Siempre que respetemos los pasos.
Era un poco escéptico con algunos comentarios que había leído, indicando que los alimentos sabían diferente, pero les tengo que dar la razón.
Adquirimos la sartén de diámetro 28 y no me parece tan pesada como otras con las que he cocinado.
Durante su utilización, se abomba muy ligeramente la base, repartiendo el aceite a los extremos, nada alarmante pero sucede.

SOBRESALIENTE.

La sartén alta de hierro mineral B De Buyer no puede dejar indiferente a nadie que sea amante a la cocina. La que yo adquirí puede durar toda la vida y el material con que está fabricada -hierro- no transmite tóxicos a mis alimentos. Los sabores que salen en ella no tienen parangón. Son los sabores de antaño, los tradicionales. Eso sí, hay que limpiarla y secarla muy bien cuanto antes, si acaso, con un poquito de aceite sobre ella.
Asimismo, participa en darle a mi cocina una estética "vintage".
Finalmente, quiero agradecer la exquisita amabilidad con la que me atendió la empleada Nuria para informarme y sugerirme lo mejor. Un sol.
