Things to Know About De Buyer Mineral B Iron Pans
  • De Buyer pans are made in France, and they are the only ones with a purity certificate of over 99% iron. The best!
  • They are iron pans, so they can rust. How to prevent it? Avoid prolonged contact with water, don't let them air dry: simply dry them with a cloth after washing. If you want, you can leave them on low heat for a few minutes again to completely remove the moisture while finishing cooking (it's a very easy trick to follow and very useful).
  • If you're going to leave them unused for many days, you can apply a little oil and spread it over the surface with a paper towel, but it's not essential.
  • Before the first use, it's very interesting to season them. This seasoning makes them more naturally non-stick. Seasoning is super simple to do. Watch the video among the photos to learn how to do it.
  • You have a pan for a lifetime! You can scrub it with a soft sponge, or wash it with soap if needed to remove food, and nothing will happen to the pan! (there's no non-stick coating to damage). They can turn black, uniformly or in patches. Don't worry, the blacker they get, the better they will perform.
  • If rust spots appear, rub with a paper towel with oil, and you'll see how it magically disappears. If the rusted area is larger, use soap without fear. Nothing will happen; it's a completely iron pan: under the iron layer, there's more iron.
  • If you've had to scrub it with soap or if you simply feel like it, you can season it again, but it's not essential to do it regularly.

Estaba dudosa cuando compré esta sartén por si se pegaba la tortilla. Para mi sorpresa no ha sido así, siguiendo las instrucciones de uso y de curado previo han salido unas tortillas esponjosas.

Buena compra

Muy buena sartén. Para el resto de mi vida. Hay que aprender a usarla y cuidarla como todas las de hierro: curarla bien -con menos aceite que el indicado por el fabricante!-, no dejar que se oxide y tener cuidado con el mango recubierto de epoxy,éste tarda más en calentarse que el fondo pero se calienta y necesitarás un trapo para asirla

Sartenes de hierro de calidad

Por el uso que les hemos dado esta semana desde que llegaron, la experiencia es muy buena. Estamos seguros que más nos van a gustar todavía pasado un tiempo.

Creo que no la se usar

Me he quedado un poco decepcionada con la compra, he curado la sartén como leí que se hacía y se me pegan las cosas, supongo que no se usarla bien,

Lamentamos que tu experiencia con la sartén Mineral B de Buyer para tortillas no sea la esperada, pero no te preocupes, porque vamos a indicarte como cocinar y cómo cuidarla, para que no se queme, no se peguen los alimentos y no se oxide.

Esta sartén es de hierro 'al aire' en más de un 99% de su composición, por lo tanto requiere un mínimo cuidado y mantenimiento para evitar que pueda aparecer algún punto de óxido. Pero con el uso y el tiempo, se va formando una pátina que le proporciona una mayor antiadherencia natural y que ayuda a que la sartén no se oxide. Cuanto más la uses, menos tendrás que preocuparte por si pudiera oxidarse

Respecto a como cocinar con ella, has de tener en cuenta que el hierro es un material que absorbe y retiene muy bien la temperatura. Necesita irse calentando poco a poco, para tener tiempo de repartir a toda la sartén el calor que recibe en la base. Por ese motivo no se ha de calentar ni cocinar con ella a potencia alta, porque si no es cuando se quema y los alimentos se pegan. Todo el calor que coge el hierro, se lo queda, por ese podrás cocinar con ella a altas temperaturas, pero a potencia media e incluso baja.
