The Special wooden rice spoon by Bérard has a short handle and a very wide blade to serve rice quickly and comfortably. It is made of olive wood, one of the most resistant woods in existence and exquisite to the touch. The grains in the wood are unique and always different, so no two spoons are the same, each one is unique, and all of them are beautiful.
Also, olive wood is ideal for use in the kitchen as it has anti-bacterial properties and its wood is one of the most resistant to stains and odours. It does not require special care, although it is recommended to wash it by hand and leave it to dry in an upright position. To keep the wood looking as good as new and prevent over-drying, it is advisable to apply occasional vegetable oil or use Bérard's special wood cream.
Bérard has been making wooden utensils in Saint-Laurent-en-Royans, between the French Alps and the Côte d'Azur, since 1892. The manufacturing process is respectful of forests and the environment. Each piece is handcrafted to make the most of the available wood, no two pieces are the same. In addition, all surplus material is used to heat both the drying chamber and the facility itself, so there is no waste of wood.
