The history of Microplane
Manufactured in the USA, the Microplane graters have already become the benchmark for this type of utensil thanks to their sharp and resistant blades that cut food like no other. It all started in 1994, when a carpenter's wife was baking an orange cake. Fed up with the poor performance of her grater, she tried one of her husband's favourite woodworking tools. She slid the orange against the blade and gaped at it: the tiny zests fell like snowflakes. The discovery of the Microplane woodworking tool, capable of creating the finest orange zest imaginable, laid the foundation for the success of the brand's graters.
